The Finest Hours

The Finest Hours was the final movie I worked on at MPC Vancouver before moving on to ILM. This was a very difficult movie to pull off, as there were multiple elements that tested our ability to adapt. Creating a convincing CG ocean is a tall task, but the team pulled it off with flying colours. The result was amazing, and the amount of control we had as lighters over all of the layers helped us create this menacing beast! Beyond the ocean itself, lighting the broken ship was a tough task, as the colour palette was quite dark. We relied on a lot of interactive lighting, which added to the dramatic nature of the situation. Huge congratulations to the team for pulling this one off. It was a tough one!
