Early in 2017, I had a 6 week stint on Thor: Ragnarok. This was really exciting for 2 reasons! The second movie I worked on in my career was the first Thor from Marvel, so revisiting the franchise was the first reason. Being able to work on a film from Taika Waititi, with so much creativity and artistic elements to it, was the second. In that 6 weeks, I took a concept for Valkyrie's ship, Warsong, and turned it into the initial hero model. This asset had some interesting mechanical design elements to incorporate, including wings that can pivot 360 degrees, and guns that also rotate. For anyone that knows me well, I love to figure out these kinds of problems, and model interesting, yet fully functional solutions for them! The concept design was created by the talented Laurent Ben-Mimoun.
